Short: Aladdin 4D Image by Dave Matthews Author: dm05438@navix.net (Dave Matthews) Uploader: dm05438 navix net (Dave Matthews) Type: pix/trace Architecture: generic This picture is the result of my continuing fascination with both technology and the arts. Are technology and art (or science and magic) really incompatible, or are they, perhaps, not even different things at all, but merely seen and understood through a filter of each person's worldview? Technology used in creating this art: Hardware: Amiga 1200 w/ 68030/68882 @ 28MHz, 4 MB Fast Ram, 40MB HD Software: Aladdin 4D v3.2, True Brilliance 2.0, Art Department Pro 2.5, Gigamem 3.12 The image was originally rendered at 1248 x 1472. Due to memory constraints, I had to render this image in multiple layers. The Star field, as well as bitmap textures, was created in True Brilliance, the Nebulae was rendered in Aladdin 4D using Aladdin's gases, the backdrop and foreground Girders were rendered separately, as was the main image. Combined rendering took 28Hrs. This final IFF 24 image was created using ADPro to composite the layers, which took 16MB of virtual memory. This image was originally intended for output to print, which is why it has these particular dimensions. For this upload, I scaled it down and saved it to JPEG format again using ADPro. This image is freely distributable as long as this readme accompanies it. -- _ // David S. Matthews \X/ Internet: dm05438@navix.net Fidonet: 1:202/720.6
