Short: Imaginary Advertisement for the Amiga Author: ckemp@innet.lu (Christian Kemp) Uploader: ckemp innet lu (Christian Kemp) Type: pix/misc Version: 1.0 (22.12.95) Architecture: generic Amiga Technologies need to do some advertising, in order to re-establish the Amiga's image. They must not do the error of selling the Amiga as 'yet another multimedia computer'. There are hundreds, if not thousands of other brands doing just this. The future of the Amiga lies in the niche market, not in the mainstream, which is occupied by companies whose budget exceeds ATech's one by far. The picture in this archive is the kind of advertisement I would like to see from ATech. It shows some hippos in some brown, muddy river which nobody would possibly enter without being forced to. The hippos are the personification of the mainstream PC's : slow, with a dinosaur-like look who 'float' in the dark muddy river, the mainstream. Below this picture is written : 'Amiga. Not really mainstream.' (The font I used does not suit the picture perfectly, however.) This is my first attempt to do some kind of advertisement, I hope you like it. If you have any comments or remarks, positive or negative, do not hesitate to contact me at the address mentioned below. Job offers are also welcome ;) The quality of the picture is fairly low, due to the space- saving quality-reduction of JPEG encoding. The GIF-original is over 230k long, while the JPEG'ed version only takes up 34k of valuable disk space. The original photograph was found on Aminet as (pix/fauna/safari17.jpg), the font used for the text was CG Palacio, which is © COmpugraphic Corporation.
