the german catalog file supplied by click boom (authors of the official amiga quake port)
show`s totally disalligned menu`s and special characters for letter`s ä,ü,ö,ß.
as quake doesnt support these german letters, i changed them to ae,ue,oe,ss
the menu`s look right now, no overlapping text anymore....

installation:
just copy the file quake.catalog to locale:catalogs/deutsch


you might have not seen any german word in q1 yet,
cos the clk-boom installation on q1-cd didnt copy it (for me at least)
over to harddrive automatically.
